Enrollment

How do I register my child?

To register for °ÄÃÅÌìÌìºÃ²Ê¿ª½±â€™s programs you need to apply to the wait list. Please visit the enrollment page and submit an application for the preferred program. Once you have completed and submitted the form you will be added to the wait list and contacted when there is a spot available to you in the program.

Who can complete a child's registration?
  • Parents or legal guardians.
  • Expecting or adoptive parents.
  • Parents with children in other countries who have begun the immigration process.
Is the wait list the official enrollment list for the next school year?

No. Applying to the wait list is just to register the child(ren) so you can be contacted when there is a space available to enroll your child(ren).

How long does it take to contact me regarding an open space in the program?

The process may take 1-2 years depending on the capacity of the program and the age of the child(ren).

Inclement Weather Policy

How are families and staff notified of °ÄÃÅÌìÌìºÃ²Ê¿ª½±â€™s decision related to inclement weather?

°ÄÃÅÌìÌìºÃ²Ê¿ª½± will communicate decisions to close or delay opening no later than 6:00 AM in the following ways:

  1. Pre-recorded messages via phone or text message.
  2. Local media outlets will be alerted to closures and delayed openings. Postings will be labeled by site as follows: °ÄÃÅÌìÌìºÃ²Ê¿ª½± – DC or °ÄÃÅÌìÌìºÃ²Ê¿ª½± – MD.
  3. Update on °ÄÃÅÌìÌìºÃ²Ê¿ª½± website homepage
  4. Posts on °ÄÃÅÌìÌìºÃ²Ê¿ª½± social media platforms: Facebook: and Twitter:
  5. You may also call °ÄÃÅÌìÌìºÃ²Ê¿ª½± at 202-332-4200 and listen to an automated voice message regarding inclement weather decisions.

Please note that sites may have different responses depending on local weather conditions so please be sure the notification is relevant to the correct location. Also, if there are no messages related to closure or delayed opening on any of the places listed above, then you can assume °ÄÃÅÌìÌìºÃ²Ê¿ª½± is operating business as usual. You may always call the front desk for clarification at 202-332-4200.

What does a two-hour delay mean?

A two-hour delay means schools will open two hours later than the normal start time. In the case of a delayed opening °ÄÃÅÌìÌìºÃ²Ê¿ª½± sites will open as followed:

  • D.C. site will open at 10:00 AM. In the event of a delayed opening, there will be no breakfast, before-care, or drop-off services available. Please make alternate arrangements on these days.
  • In Maryland, our site will open at 10:00 AM in the event of a delayed opening.

A delayed opening due to inclement weather will be made no later than 6:00 AM.

What if inclement weather develops during the school day?

In the event of an emergency during the school day, we will make every effort to have the information available through local media as stated above. We will also make every effort to call parents via an automated phone system. Please be sure we have your most current daytime phone number and email address so we can contact you. What do I do if I’m not receiving messages from °ÄÃÅÌìÌìºÃ²Ê¿ª½± related to inclement weather decisions?

If you are not receiving automated phone calls and/or text messages about closures and delayed openings, then you should speak with a representative from the Admissions Office to ensure your records are updated. To ensure messages are not mistaken as wrong numbers or spam, you might also consider adding °ÄÃÅÌìÌìºÃ²Ê¿ª½±â€™s phone number (202-332-4200) to the contacts in your mobile phone.
